Welcome to the HIPAA Homepage for the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville
Scope: In an effort to maintain uniformity and consistency, all of the policies and procedures in the UF Privacy Manual apply to all parts of the University of Florida Health Science Centers and other medical components, including the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Pharmacy in both Gainesville and Jacksonville; the University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc.; and University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Inc..
These policies and procedures apply to all faculty, physicians, residents, fellows, researchers, employees, students and volunteers. They also apply to business associates, official visitors, vendors, and other individuals who have been invited or authorized to enter UF's patient care areas or who may have access to UF's protected health information.
Area-Specific Procedures: In general, the procedures included with the privacy policies are generic and should be appropriately modified, within the confines of the policies, to fit the needs of individual departments, divisions, clinics, or other units. Policies may not be modified for any reason without written approval from the UF Privacy Officer.
Training: Policies concerning training requirements are the same for both Gainesville and Jacksonville. All Level 1 training modules must be repeated annually (every 12 months). Click on the Training link to get started.
