Students: once you are accepted into a UF healthcare program, complete the full HIPAA General Awareness or Research training through this website - choose the appropriate module from the menu at left and follow the instructions given.

Instructions

The tutorial appears as a pop-up box. If you click below on Begin Training and get sent back to this page, you need to either disable your pop-up blocker or use a different computer that allows pop-ups from this page. Speak to your computer support person for help.

The tutorial takes approximately 15 minutes and must be completed in one sitting. Please do not close the tutorial window until you see the Certificate of Completion, which appears at the end of the training. Read the information on each slide. Press the NEXT button to proceed from slide to slide.

Registration at the end: You do not need a UFID number to register, but, if you have one, please use it. All others may make up a pseudo-number to register your completion of the training. The registration screen comes at the end of the tutorial.
If you do NOT have a UF ID#, use ####-0000. Replace the first 4 digits with some other set of numbers that you will remember, such as part of a phone #,address, or zip code. Do not use all zero's.
If you have a UF ID# but can't remember it, please go to: http://www.it.ufl.edu/ufid/wmufid.html.
It is very important to use your UFID # if you have one, and to enter your number accurately.

Certificates: If you complete the tutorial and the registration page, but do not see your Certificate or receive an error message, your completion has not registered. Use your Back arrow to try the registration again. If all attempts fail, please email the Privacy Office - information is below.

Browsers: The module works best with an Internet Explorer Browser, but will also work with Netscape 6+, Firefox, and other common browsers. It is also designed to work with MacIntosh systems.

Thank you for your participation, and please contact Everall Peele, Privacy Training Coordinator (epeele@ufl.edu), if you have any questions.
